How much does photo restoration cost?

Our minimum order is around $25 USD and our prices drop sharply the more photos you have. However, final cost of any photo restoration depends on the amount of damage, so our restoration artists need to evaluate each photo individually. You can send us as many photos as you like through our free quote request page and we will give you a price within 24 hours. There is no fee or any other obligation to request a quote.

Here are some of the things we use to determine the price of your restoration:

  • How much of the photo is scratched or creased?
  • Do any of the scratches, creases or other damage cover a person’s face, hands or other detailed parts of the photo?
  • How faded are the colors?
  • Has the fading destroyed any detail that will need to be reconstructed?
  • Are there any people or objects that need to be removed?

How long does photo restoration take?

Most orders with 1-3 photos take about 48 hours. Photos that are heavily damaged may take a little longer, but 99% of our orders are complete within one week. If you have a deadline, please let us know when you request a quote - you will be able to leave us a message after uploading your photo.

How do I receive my pictures when my restoration is complete?

The files you receive are the full quality restorations at the same size/resolution as the originals you sent us. Many other photo restoration services on the web only provide small previews of the completed restorations and so customers have to order prints through them. We don't think that's fair, so when you order from us you will be able to keep the restored files and use them to make as many prints as you like.

Can I order prints from you?

We currently aren’t offering prints because it’s always less expensive for our customers to print their restorations at home or a local print shop. You can also feel the texture and weight of the paper before printing, which we think is important.

Please tell us if you are planning to make prints and at what sizes. We will size your restored photos properly and advise you on printing them.

Can I send you a photo from my phone/camera instead of a scan?

If you would like a quote on your restoration without the hassle of scanning, please take a clear photo in a well lit room making sure that any damage is clearly visible. You can send it to us on the "request a quote" page and a restoration artist will contact you within 24 hours.

However, no matter what kind of camera you use, some of the detail of the original photo will be lost. This is why we prefer to do the actual restoration work from high-resolution scans and why we insist our customers scan their photos if at all possible. We can give you a price quote from a phone photo, but before beginning restoration we will ask you if it is possible to scan it.

Do I need to mail you my original print?

No, you do not need to mail us anything. We recommend you keep your original photo safe and use it only for scanning.

What if my photo is too big for the scanner?

No problem! All you need to do is scan it a few times in different sections, making sure every part of the photo is captured, then send us the files. We will reassemble them for you.

I don’t have the original print, can you still restore my photo?

The answer is that we can almost certainly improve it. Please send us whatever you have through our "request a quote" page and a restoration artist will contact you within 24 hours.

Can you colorize my black & white photo?

Certainly! Just let us know when you request a quote.

Can you remove people/objects or combine multiple photos?

Yes, we can. Please upload your photos and request a quote. On the next page after uploading your photos, please give us a detailed description of what you would like done.

What if you can't repair my photo?

If you've already paid and we realize we can't restore your photo, you receive a full refund. No tricks or conditions.

What if I'm not happy with my restoration?

It's important that all of our customers are happy with our service. If your restoration isn't what you were expecting, please let us know within 30 days and we will offer you a full refund.
